CTSL Spill Specialists' team in the north of England has successfully completed the clean up of a large fuel spill for an agriculture client, requiring extensive screening and excavation to restore the site safely.

Our CTSL Spill Specialists Yorkshire depot, led by experienced Project Manager Cian Grace, was appointed by our loss adjuster client on behalf of the site's insurer to attend a fuel spill at a farm site in North Yorkshire which had impacted one of the policyholder's fields.

An extensive 6,000L spill required immediate control, containment and impact assessment to ensure the remainder of the farm's agricultural operations could continue. Equipped with the skills and kit required to control large-scale spills such as this, the team identified that parts of the field were more heavily affected than others.

CTSL Spill Specialists carried out on-site screening of soils before commencing excavation of material. Our screening allowed us to excavate only to a shallow depth over a large area of the site, going deeper only where necessary. This prevented over-excavation of the soils and the unnecessary - and costly - removal of otherwise uncontaminated materials.

In total, our excavation removed 750T of soils.
