CTSL Spill Specialists' in-house buildings team, led by Operations Director Iain Rennie, has developed new solar-powered treatment technology which will enable us to manage remote projects without reliance on external power supplies.

CTSL Spill Specialists' bespoke solar-powered treatment technology developed by our in-house team

Many of our CTSL Spill Specialists projects are undertaken in remote or isolated areas, where properties rely on kerosene for their heating supply. The challenges of working on such sites promote innovation by our team, finding new ways of working and developing new, bespoke technologies and kit to ensure we continue to deliver exceptional service wherever we are.

Power supply for our equipment can occasionally present problems. We attended a property recently which had suffered extensive fire damage and so had no electricity supply, and similarly properties requiring full rewires after building works are frequently unable to power technologies. This gave us the incentive to develop our own solution using a renewable energy source, adapting traditional equipment to suit the demands of our Spill Specialists projects.

Monitoring equipment developed by our in-house CTSL Spill Specialists team

Hands-on CTSL Spill Specialists Operations Director Iain Rennie has developed bespoke solar-powered treatment equipment, which will enable us to carry out on-site treatment anywhere without reliance on a power supply.

The new equipment is waterproofed and will be used to monitor dissolved oxygen levels, particularly for agricultural spills. Environmentally friendly, this powerful unit will be dropped into water downstream of a spill to provide continuous readings in real-time. Not only is the new kit versatile and hardy, but it'll save our team valuable man-hours by providing remote readings without the need to attend site in person to monitor levels and collect data.

This increased efficiency will see further benefits for clients, with faster 'up to the minute' reporting and allocation of resource where it's needed.

CTSL Spill Specialists' investment in remediation technologies

CTSL Spill Specialists is committed to investing in new technologies that continually enhance our claims management, remediation and spill response services.

From our self-contained spill response vehicle which enables us to proactively contain and clean a spill area without reliance on external power, to 3D walk-through modelling software which gives insurer and loss adjuster clients unmatched insight into property condition both before and after a project, all of our technologies are chosen and implemented for efficiency, accuracy and to deliver industry-leading reporting.

With in-house building, civils and groundworks expertise, together with exceptional understanding and a cohesive approach to scientific remediation and building aspects of every project, CTSL Spill Specialists is pleased to be able to bring bespoke, in-house technologies to our equipment suite.
