Oil spill clean-up to protect your home
CTSL’s Spill Specialists work with leading insurer and loss adjuster clients to clean up and restore homes where oil or other contaminants have leaked.
With years of experience in claims management and remediation, our expert team works efficiently using unique in-house skills and technologies to identify, treat and restore your home to an excellent standard, getting you back to normal as quickly as possible.
What to expect during a clean-up
Spill clean-up work is messy and can be disruptive. Although we try to ensure you can stay in your home during our works, it is often safer and more suitable for you to move out into short-term accommodation. We work hard to complete the remediation and restoration thoroughly, to a high standard and efficiently.
You’ll have a dedicated project manager from our team to work with you throughout the project, maintaining good communication and clearly explaining the work we’re doing.
“The garden looks great and the men you’ve had on site have been excellent. Thanks for your service and communication throughout.”
“Owain and his team have been everything I could ask for.”

Our phased clean-up approach
INITIAL SITE VISIT
After your insurer has been notified, CTSL Spill Specialists will visit your property to assess the incident, establish what’s happened and any emergency works which may be required for safety reasons or to prevent any further contamination.
We’ll then report to your insurers on our initial findings and recommendations.
We often don’t know how far a spill has reached or the affected parts of a property until we can take up floors and identify the nature of the spill and the extent of the damage. During phase 1, if the property’s structure has (or has potentially) been affected we may need to move out your family and your furniture, carry out thorough investigation and likely take up flooring and floorboards, remove walls and other structural features.
We’ll send a report to your insurers who will then authorise remediation and rebuilding work.
Contamination is treated in cycles, so you may find that we’re not at the property every day. We’ll be on site to put in a treatment which will often need to be left in situ for a week before we return.
Once treated, we’ll work with you to restore your property. Our in-house building teams will rebuild walls, lay new floors and replace internal fittings. We use our own labour and skills, trusted, trained and approved by CTSL, to guarantee an excellent level of service, care and attention to detail.
You may have two dedicated project managers to your property depending on the scale of the work we’re completing. One will be an expert scientist to take care of the remediation, whilst the other will manage the building and reinstatement works.
